Fresh. Flavourful. Spray Free.
Since the manager's residence was finished (or at least to occupancy level), the famlies at Eastward have had time to focus on building up the garden industry. And wonderful things have been happening! You can see here some pictures of the fresh garden produce!
Our energetic garden team, lead by Rod Bailey, is committed to supplying our community with fresh, healthy and locally grown produce. Each week, our customers have the opportunity to purchase from a thriving grower's market or have their orders home delivered by our friendly staff.
We believe that agriculture is a fundamental componant of true education and strive to harvest the blessings of useful labour in our everyday life.
Recently, Rod was bleesed to be able to attend the Adventist Agricultral Association's (AdAgrA) yearly conference in Florida, USA. On the flight home, his baggage allowance was well and truly stretched as Rod returned with tools, books and many ideas and plans.
Most encouragingly, many of the AdAgrA leaders and organisers have expressed interest and willingness to support the establishment of an Australian chapter of AdAgrA, and to support a similar conference here with both their experience and presence. We are also praying about expanding the Eastward Garden industry to make these simple, yet vital tools available to gardeners in Australia so that they too might experience the blessings of getting dirt under their fingernails. Please pray for us as these plans are considered, matured and acted upon.
Eastward is now in the process of organising it's own agriculture themed conference to be held late 2017. For more information, click the button below.

We have been able to purchase a tractor! We want to thank all those who contributed to our new machine - we have so desperately needed a tractor like this for so long, and now that our smaller tractor needs an engine rebuild, it could not have come at a better time! The tractor is a Ford 6600, a 80hp 4WD machine in very good condition that cost us $12,500.
We have also purchased several implements, including a 6' slasher, Yeoman's plough, scarifier, twin rippers, some harrows, and a blade for road repairs. We have also been donated a potato planter and digger! We will now be able to keep the grass down on the Eastward property, maintain the roads better, and expand our agricultural industry by growing larger quantities of potato, corn, garlic, beans, legumes, pumpkins, melons and green manure crops to complement our intensive market garden.
Again, we want to thank those who generously gave for our needs, and we ask that God’s rock solid promise, that it is "more blessed to give than to receive," be fulfilled in reality for you!
